Hello friends,
I'm not sure how many of you are left since I so terribly neglect this blog, regardless, I wanted to wish you many blessings for the New Year. I am still in shock that 2013 is behind us. I feel like it was gone in a flash....so much happened, good and bad, blessings and struggles, but God was good no matter what. I look forward to experiencing His continued goodness in 2014.
I thought I'd share an encouraging card that I made today for the SCS Color Challenge while staying inside where it's warm and playing with stamps from our upcoming release (our release party is Thursday at 8pm EST in our SCS forum---we'd love to have you join us!).
This sentiment really spoke to me when I first read it that I new it had
to be a stamp. Such truth...reminds us that our lives are entirely in
God's hands. I know sometimes I feel like he's dropped me or set me
down somewhere and forgotten me, but then His gentle voice whispers to
my heart and I know He's there.
The sentiment is one of 9 encouraging sentiments in a new set called The Future. I think you are really going to love it!
The background for this card was done with another new set called Leafy Flourish Background & More. I stamped the large background in Versamark, embossed it with clear embossing powder, then sponged on the color with SU inks (Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise) and rubbed off the excess with a paper towel.
The muted image behind the sentiment was done by inking up the image in the various colors, stamping off once, then spritzing with water and stamping again on the piece I planned to use for the sentiment. The sentiment was then stamped in SU Night of Navy ink over the flourish. I lightly sponged the sentiment panel with Night of Navy ink and mounted on Rich Razzleberry cardstock. To finished it off by adding some white satin ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by! I pray this year is off to a great start for you!
Korin
