April Showers Bring May Flowers Challenge

This is the first of two posts I have for today....I know....a rarity for sure ;), but I played along with the 7 Kids Challenge and just had to share the card I made with you!!

Remember this image???? I shared it a little while back with a few others I had colored. Well, I finally put it to use. I had the papers picked out and sitting on my desk for over a week! I just couldn't get the card made, that is until now ;).

The challenge over at 7 Kids is April Showers bring May Flowers, so we were to use either showers or flowers on our cards. I went with flowers :).....the gorgeous floral Basic Grey paper I used from the Hello Luscious 6x6 pad and the little flower embellishments. The sweet Magnolia image was one I got from my good friend Sandy for my birthday from 7 Kids.

I had a lot of fun with this card :).....even broke out the sewing machine, which I to from time do time ;).

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did making it :). Oh, and for those of you interested, I will be adding it to my Etsy shop shortly! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Come back a little later for today's Sweet Peek #4 from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Hugs,
Korin

Thankful Tilda with a Sketch

Happy Saturday to you!

I have another sweet Magnolia to share with you today, just as promised, for this week's Sweet Stop sketch :). Remember this image from earlier this week?

Isn't she so sweet :)? I love the tag she is holding with the raffia bow.

I wrote in the "thanks". I also drew in the stairs she is sitting on with my Copics. I love adding personality to my images with patterns and backgrounds. The adorable papers are from Basic Grey's Hopscotch collection.

I actually turned the sketch on it's side.....it works quite nicely in any direction :). I also added pearls, crochet lace trim and ribbon for a few finishing touches.

Are you doing anything special for Easter? We have a busy weekend with our Bible Conference so lots of church time :). I think we'll squeeze in a nice family dinner tomorrow afternoon before we head back to church in the evening.

Even with all the hustle and bustle going on, we must not forget the meaning of this blessed time of year. I am truly grateful for my salvation....salvation that only comes from the shed blood of Christ on the cross of Calvary. Tomorrow I will be celebrating in my heart His glorious victory over death and sin.

Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain. HE washed it white as snow!

Easter blessings to you and yours,
Korin

Lookie...a card :)!

Yay!! I was able to make a couple of cards with the images I shared yesterday :)!! One of the cards is for Saturday's sketch so you'll have to come back then to see it, but this one I can share today.

Isn't this image sweet? I love her hair....so cute and fun to color :).

Those gorgeous papers are from Bo Bunny (Vicki B Collection) & Basic Grey (Hopscotch). The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (Spring Tulips). I added some faux stitching around each of the panels with a brown journal pen. I love to add faux stitching to my cards. It's a fun finishing touch and really frames out each panel nicely.

I've been having some fun with taking angled pictures of my cards so you may be seeing more of that with my card posts ;)....it's fun to see them from different perspectives.

Thanks for stopping by today! The sun is shining today in PA so I am looking forward to a beautiful day!

Inky hugs,
Korin

Color Me Happy

Well, I haven't had much time this week for card making, BUT I did take some time this week to color some adorable Magnolias I got from my sweet friend Sandy.

She LOVES Magnolia Stamps and has been using them for a long time.....I, on the other hand, took a while to come around. I had a hard time getting over the fact that they had no mouth, but the images have gotten sweeter as time has gone by and after seeing so many of my friends use them, they finally grew on me. When Sandy saw that I started to use the images, she sent me a few of the stamps she didn't use much anymore (what a sweetheart) AND for my birthday this month she bought me two more :). Thanks, Sandy!! You're the best!

So here are the images I colored this week.....I am hoping to get some cards made with these soon.....in fact, one of them will be used for this Saturday's Sweet Stop sketch.

Until next time.....Happy Stamping and coloring ;).....

Hugs,
Korin

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Yes, you are not seeing things.....this is my SECOND post for today!

My stamping buddy, Beate, turned me on to the Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World so I decided to dive right in and give it a whirl ;).

Here is the Trigger image....

I must say this was a really tough challenge for me. The colors are so bright, not my typical to-go colors, but it was fun to step outside my comfort zone a bit.

The image makes me think birthday so I used a "birthday" themed image. In keeping with the color scheme I made one of the packages green with white polka dots, like the cupcake liners and of course you can see all the yellow and orange :). I couldn't help but add a bit of pink to my image even though there isn't any in the trigger image. It just goes so nicely with the color scheme :). Pink grapefruit is citrus, too ;).

Thanks for stopping by again today :).

The sun is finally shining and all the snow melted, so there is still hope for SPRING :).

Korin

A Cheerful Tilda

I'm switching things up a bit today so I have a sweet Tilda to share with you. I played along with the Just Magnolia challenge this week which was to use your favorite color combo....lately red and black on on the top of my fave list so here is my creation with a splash of yellow to brighten it up :)....

Those fun papers are from the For the Record collection by Echo Park. LOVE this DP!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I love reading your sweet comments.

Blessings,

A Sweet Tilda & A Sketch

It's Saturday again and time for another fun sketch brought to you by The Sweet Stop :)! For my sketch card sample I used this sweet Tilda image. I challenged myself to use colors I rarely use, so this is what I came up with. I am really happy with how the image turned out :). I had never colored really dark brown hair before and I think it looks pretty good for the first time.....plus I just LOVE her adorable hair style.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am getting ready to head out for a day of stamping with a bunch of fabulous ladies. Pics to follow :)!

Inky hugs,
Korin

P.S. I have also entered this for the following Magnolia challenge :).

I'm having fun with Tildas this week :)....so I have a Tilda birthday card for you today.

I played along with the sketch over at Just Magnolia challenges this week. It was a fun sketch to work with :).

The papers are from Kaisercraft, the Candy Lane Collection. I also broke out my new lace punch I got last week :). How fun!!

Thanks for taking a look at my creation today. :) I hope it made you smile!

You're Too Kind!

Hooray for another fun Sweet Stop sketch :).

Today I have a Magnolia card for you. It took me a while to come around with these images, but now I really do enjoy them :) and although I cannot afford them, I do have a few stamped images that some friends shared with me so I can share them here with you :).

This one is just so sweet and worked perfectly for today sketch. The sentiment I used is from Sweet 'n Sassy's Gifts From Turtle stamp set.

The paper are just scraps I had in my scrap drawer......I think the stripe is from Basic Grey's Mellow pad. The yellow flowered paper is also from Basic Grey, but I cannot recall which pad.

Thanks for stopping by today! And thanks for always leaving me such encouraging comments. "You're too kind :)!!"
