Happy Little.....Stockings?

Do you remember the artist Bob Ross and his "happy little trees"?  Well, I am not sharing happy little trees today but happy little stockings :).  I am having such fun with this new Christmas stamp set, Holiday Baubles.  There are so many things you can do with it!

Here's a not-so-CAS card I made for Christmas in July week...

The papers are new from Bo Bunny (LOVE) called Mistletoe. I simply stamped a row of stockings in different colors on a larger panel, then stamped the sentiment and added the DP above and below.  The scallops below the lovely Stampin' Up ribbon are from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps scallop die set

Thanks for visiting with me today!

May you feel the Lord's love and faithful presence today....and always!!

We're celebrating Christmas in July!

Hello friends!  I am thrilled to be participating in today's Christmas in July Blog Hop.  The Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps DT and a few of our friends have been busy little bees getting ready to share with you today.  By the time you finish this hop you will want to crank up the Christmas music, break out the hot cocoa and get started on those Christmas cards :).

Before I get to my shares for today let me give you some important info...if you didn't start on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog, you will want to head there now.  There is a lot of info you won't want to miss about our celebration!

The best part about this fun Christmas in July blog hop...we want YOU to play along with us!  Just create a Christmas project using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and add your link below so we can enjoy it, too!  You have until Sunday, July 22 at 11:59 PM EST to play along.  We will 1 randomly selected participant to receive their choice of one Christmas clear stamp set!

How about those cards I promised....

My first few cards feature a couple of our fabulous pre-released Christmas sets, Holiday Baubles & Christmas Sentiments.  You can get the pre-released sets while supplies last and then not again until they are officially released in September or October.

This set is so much for fun CAS cards like these.  You could have your Christmas cards done in no time flat! A Kaleidacolor ink pad and some Stickles and viola---CAS at it's finest :).

The next few cards feature the pre-released set Vintage Ornaments.

I love this set, too!  It makes fabulous CAS cards, but also amazing layered cards :).

That's all for me today, but I will be sharing more Christmas cards throughout the week so come back often!

Here's the full blog hop line-up...

A Different Kind of Hop

Good morning, friends (new & old)!

My blog is typically dedicated to my stamping passion, but today I am going to be sharing something a little bit different.  I hope you will join the fun and be encouraged!

A few months back I stumbled on a blog called MOB Society....MOB stands for Mothers of Boys.  Being a mother to three boys, this blog intrigued me, so I read on and I have been reading on ever since :).  This blog is full of encouragement for us MOBs, plus it's packed with plenty of fun stories, giggles and resources, too.  If you have a son or more than one son, I invite you to check it out.  You won't be sorry!

The MOB Society Blog is holding it's annual Boy Mom Blog Hop and it starts today!  I thought it would be fun to participate to not only help spread the word about this fabulous blog, but also to tell YOU a bit about MY amazing boys :).  The pictures are not all current (which you can tell by my varying hairstyles), but they are some of my favorites, so I wanted to share them with you....and maybe brag on them, just a little ;)...

I'll start with my oldest.....

This is Aston.  He's 14 and he is a leader.  He has a fabulous sense of humor and LOVES to make people laugh.  He is often found in the center of the action (which is often his youth group laughing their heads off or goofing around).  Aston has a knack for working with his hands and although he isn't a big fan of school or reading because he prefers doing something more active, he is VERY smart.  He has grown a great deal this past year, physically but also spiritually and I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for him.  I am so proud to be his mother.

This is Aidan.  He's 12 and he is a tenderhearted encourager.  He loves learning and always strives to do his best.  He loves cooking and computers and, like his brother, has a great sense of humor.  When we are together I often find myself giggling at the funny things he says.  He's not the rowdy kind of boy, but he does enjoy swimming and wants to start playing soccer this fall at his small Christian school.  This past year his teacher nominated him for the Jr. National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. He also earned the citizenship award, which was another exciting achievement. I am so proud to be his mother.

This is Evan.  He's 9 and he is a fireball of energy!  He doesn't like to sit still for very long and he always keeps us on our toes.  He loves telling others about Jesus and wants to be a missionary when he grows up.  He also has a fabulous sense of humor and says some of the funniest things I have ever heard come out of a young child.  He loves making new friends and is very good at it.  He just learned how to swim, which he is quite excited about and he can't wait for school to start again so he can see his friends ;).  I am so proud to be his mother.

Well, there you have it---my boys, my joys.

If you want to learn more about ME, feel free to look around my blog and check out my About Me tab.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I hope you enjoyed this little detour and I will see you again soon!

Remember to be a blessing to someone today and you in turn will be blessed.

A Surprise Digi Release!

A friend of mine messaged me recently about making some picnic invitations for her.  She wanted to incorporate a koala image somehow because the picnic is for her daughter and she loves koalas.  While SNSS has a koala image, I just wasn't happy with the way the invitations were looking so I decided to draw a new koala image.....meet Kiwi Koala.

I like the image so much I added it to our store in both color and black and white.  Since our fun little furry friends at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps are mostly named after foods, I thought this little guy should follow suit :).

And here is one of the invitations I am making for my friend :)....

I hope you enjoy this new little critter.  There may be more of him in the future ;)....

Thanks for visiting with me today!!  Have a beautiful day!

We're Blog Hoppin' Today!!

It's release day again at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps but this time we are trying a new format for our celebration.  Instead of a release party in the evening following the blog hop we are having a Virtual Stamp DAY!  The design team has prepared an array of fabulous challenges to help get you stamping and we're giving away stamps, too!  Be sure to check it out after you hop!

I'm your final stop in the hop today and I have two more cards to share.  I am sure you have been completely floored by all of the fabulous creations the DT has made....I know I have been!!!  They outdo themselves with every hop!  They just keep getting better and better :)!!

This first card is a fun one and features our new Cheerleader Cookie stamp set.  Wouldn't this be a sweet card to send to a friend in need of some encouragement?

The papers are called Viola and they are by Making Memories (one of their fabulous 6x6 paper packs).  The layout is last week's Sweet Stop sketch.  I colored the image with Copics and added some Stickles for a bit of sparkle cuz cheerleaders need to shine :).

This next card features a few new items from our release---Words of Jesus Stamp set, Decorative Plaques Dies and Decorative Frame Toppers stamp set

These three products were designed to be used together but can also be used alone OR with many other Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps images and sentiments :).

The gorgeous papers are from Bo Bunny's Country Garden 6x6 paper pad.  I LOVE the butterfly designs in this pad so I used them to create some 3D effects.  I cut out half of the larger butterfly so I could tuck the scripture panel under it.  Then I cut out a smaller butterfly from the left over paper and stuck in the upper corner with a glue dot to add a bit more dimension.

I am so glad you hopped along with us today.  If you just happened by my blog and didn't get to enjoy the rest of the blogs in this hop, please head back to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog for the full list of participating blogs.  We're giving away the entire release to one lucky commenter so you really don't want to miss out!

Oh and one more important thing I must mention....our July release is available NOW on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps website---no waiting for a release party, full reveals and then the release.  Happy shopping :)!!

Thanks for visiting me today.

Be a blessing and be blessed :)!

Sorrowing With You

I really wish we didn't have to make or give sympathy cards, but death is a part of life.  I made this card for some older friends of ours whose mother/mother-in-law passed away recently.  I really love this image illustrated by Dina and I wanted it to be the main focus of the card so I kept everything else pretty simple.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the oval "frame", colored the image with Copics and added some ribbon.

This set is actually being released tomorrow.  Some of the DT have also made samples with this set so be sure to join us for the blog hop tomorrow so you can enjoy those as well :).  Then be sure to join us over at SCS for a Virtual Stamp Day!  We'll be sharing challenges all day and we'd love to have you join the fun!  You can read all about our fun release day happenings HERE.

Before I go, I wanted to share some pics of the chickens as I mentioned yesterday...we were blessed with a free coop which made our work so much easier :).  Praise the Lord!

These are our chicks. They are 7 1/2 weeks old and doing quite well in their new home.

The coop was a package deal and came with these three Silkies - 2 roosters and a hen.  We don't plan on keeping them as we only want egg layers and the roosters can be a bit noisy ;).  They certainly are interesting looking birds, though!

I'll try to post more pics soon :).

Thanks for visiting with me today.  Have a blessed Lord's Day!

Whimsical Flowers

Happy Saturday to you, my friends!

It is a SCORCHER out there again today.  I spent the better part of this morning helping hubby get the run set up for our chickens.  I am praising the Lord for the AC, I can tell you!!  I could not work in these temps on a regular basis.  I'm also praising the Lord because we may not have to built a coop after all....a friend of a friend is giving us his because he no longer needs it :).  How fantastic is that?!  I'll share pics once we have everything set up.  The chicks have gotten so big :)!

I have another sneak peek of a new set to share today.  It's called Dream Big and it's bursting with fun and whimsy.

The background is a bit deceiving as it looks like it's embossed but it's actually a layer.  My sweet friend Cathy got me this cool Lattice Die at one of the shows we attended and I was so thrilled to finally break it out and put it to good use :).  I cut out the lattice and then layered it onto my card base.

You can grab this set along with our entire July release on Monday. Don't miss the celebration!  Details can be found HERE.

Until next time...be a blessing to someone today and you in turn will be blessed :)!

July Sneak Peek

Hello friends!

What do you think of my blog's new look?  I decided it was time for a face lift. :)

It's been a super busy summer thus far and my crafty time is so limited but I did have time to whip up a few cards using our July release so I am going to share one of them with you today....even though our release isn't until Monday.  You don't mind a little peek, right?

I am hosting this sketch challenge again over at SCS this week and this is the card I made as my sample.  The image is from Dina's new set Vintage Baby which was released in June, but I also used one of our new dies from our Decorative Plaque Dies and a new stamp set, too, called Decorative Frame Toppers.  I love this stamp set because it can be used for so many things and the die shapes are fabulous :)!

Be sure to join us Monday, July 9th for a fun new release celebration format.  We stamping the day away with challenges and chances to win all day long :)! You can find all the fun details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating the birth of our nation.  May God be merciful to the U.S.A. and may we turn our eyes back to Him.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

God Bless America and God bless YOU!
