NEW Calms His Child & His Peace

Welcome to day 5 of our August feature Blog Hops!  Today we're featuring two great sets in a new series of large inspirational sentiments.

For my first sample I simply stamped the sentiment and sponged the edges to make it pop.  I matted it in white and back and coupled it with some coordinating DPs. Then I added some rhinestones to pretty it up a bit.

For my next card I created a background.  I stamped the feather image from Nature Silhouettes 2 multiple times in first and second generation and then sponged around the edges and spritzed with an ink wash spray (a few drops of reinker and some water). I stamped the sentiment over top and added some pearls and die cut feathers with twine to finish it off.

For my first sample I sponged a background sunset with Memento inks.  Then I stamped one of the images from the Long Stem Silhouettes set in second and third generation ink.  The sentiment was then stamped over top.  I added s butterfly from our New Beginnings stamp set and die set.  The doily die is from Cheery Lynn.

My second card is super simple.  I just stamped the sentiment on a piece of notebook DP, used a spiral notebook punch for the edge and mounted it on other DPs.  The buttons and twine were added for a bit of interest.

NEW God Is

Welcome to day 4 of our August feature Blog Hops!  Today we're featuring Dina's wonderful companion set to His Child called God Is.

I have two cards to share with you today.  First up is this simple card using the image as sort of a shadow behind the words.

 


My second card features a couple other stamp sets (Landscape Silhouettes and Tree Background) which create a lovely scene.  I love how our stamps can be used together.  Don't you? 

I stamped the farm landscape using the "second generation ink" (stamped off once) to give the idea of it being far away in the background.  The grass and boy image were stamped in full strength ink.  The tree branches were stamped both ways to give dimension. I used Versafine Onyx black ink for all of the stamping.  It's such a great ink for sentiments and silhouette images because of the excellent coverage and fine detail.

NEW Prim Blessings

Welcome to day 2 of our August feature Blog Hops!  Today we're featuring Diane's precious new set, Prim Blessings.

I have three cards to share with you today since this set is just so full of options. :)

First up is this CAS wedding card.  I stamped the small sunflower in two different colors to create a background piece and the birds were colored with Copics.  I finished it off with a seam binding bow and button with twine.

Next is a cheery sunflower card.  I love Fall colors so I chose some pretty Fall papers to go with this lovely image which was colored with Copics.  To make the center of the flower look more realistic, I used the "dot" method of coloring....lots and lots and lots of dots in different shades.  Then I added some white dots with a Sharpie Poster Paint pen.  The scalloped edge is from the Bookmarks & More dies. Again, I finished it off with ribbon and a button with twine.

Finally I have a sweet card featuring Diane's adorable ewe.  I framed her with one of the frames from the Decorative Frames stamp set and Decorative Plaque dies.  The image was colored with Copics, sponged around the edges and popped up on a piece of matted and sponged DP.  I added one of the Doily Borders, some ribbon and twine, and a mini tag with the sentiment.

When I designed this set I was thinking versatility.  I LOVE stamp sets with endless possibilities and I think I nailed it with this one.  The dies just make it even more useful! :)

First up, here's a simple bookmark I created using one of the bookmark dies, the edge dies, the owl and paper airplane images and one of the sentiments.

 

Something like these would be so cute for back to school class or teacher gifts, don't you think?

This next one is a card with a fold-over-the-page bookmark that can be taken off and used!  If the recipient is a stamper, the card base could even be re-used to create another card! :)

For this one I used one of the bookmark dies, one of the edge dies, the rick-rack die to create an edge, plus a number of images and a sentiment from the stamp set.  This was so much fun to make! :)
