Born Again

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3

Yesterday's post got me thinking.....many people have faith in God, they believe He sent in perfect , holy son Jesus to die for their sins and they even believe that Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day, yet they have not accepted God's gift of salvation. They have not been born again and therefore they cannot know true peace, the peace that passes all understanding.

From John chapter 3...

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Being born again is a spiritual birth. When we trust in Jesus, confessing who He is and what He has done for us and when we repent from our wicked sin and turn from it, we are then born again. We can know peace, because we know Jesus.

Salvation doesn't come from our good works. Even our best could never save us because we are born sinners. Our sin separates us from God because God cannot look upon sin, but when we are born-again, the blood of Christ covers our sin and bridges the gap between us and God. We then have a home in heaven when our time on earth is through.

It is my prayer that if you are reading this post today, you ARE born again---you have accepted God's gift of salvation in Jesus Christ His perfect son. If you have not been born again, God is calling to you. He wants you to come to Him, to know Him. Won't you heed His call?

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for saving me, a sinner. I have done nothing to deserve your love and forgiveness, but you have given it to me none-the-less. Father, I pray that whoever is reading this post today, if they have not accepted your precious gift, that they may hear you calling, that they may fall to their knees and confess Jesus Christ is Lord, that they may know peace and live a life that brings you glory. Father, I pray if there is a Christian reading this post today that they may never forget to praise you for the gift they have received. May they be used of you to bring others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord. In Jesus precious and most holy name, AMEN.

Amen, dear sister! Our salvation at His expense is so amazing. His grace while we were yet sinners is beyond comprehension. I am so thankful for His sacrifice and look forward to His return!!
